From the 30th March – 1 April 2016, George Clinical will be exhibiting at the largest Bio exhibition in Asia – Bio Korea 2016, held in Seoul.
BioKorea, established in 2006, has grown to be one of Asia’s premier events for global biotech industry. This year marks the 11th anniversary for this conference. BioKorea consists of conferences, business forums, exhibitions, pharm fair, medtech fair, invest fair and job fair.
The South Korean pharmaceuticals market is one of the most developed in Asia. With a healthcare market size of approximately US $17bn, Korea is an appealing healthcare market for global and local pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Korea already possesses high quality, westernized-style medical and scientific infrastructure for clinical research, with a long history of conducting global clinical trials.
Following the successful participation at BioKorea 2015, AusBiotech and Austrade will once again be co-organising an Australian pavilion to showcase Australia’s biotechnology sector and facilitate business and research collaboration opportunities for the Australian institutions. To increase opportunities for networking, Austrade will also be organising a seminar on Australian Clinical Trial capability as part of the main event. The seminar aims to promote Australia’s clinical trial capabilities and seek collaborations or partnerships with Korean pharmaceutical companies. The seminar will be promoted by Austrade and Korean Health Industry Development Institute (KHDI), the organizer of BioKorea.
Dr Marisa Petersen, Chief Executive Officer of George Clinical, has been invited to speak at the seminar on the topic of Australia and the International Clinical Trial Environment. She will be touching on points on how Australia plays leadership roles in international studies particularly in trial design and trial management; and the challenges in managing multi-centre trials. Marisa’s experience in Australia and Asia, and her associations with various industry groups and task forces, will make her session an engaging one.
